And the winners are…

DSCN8415Some friends and I are celebrating the launch of Chicken Soup for the Soul–Christmas in Canada, as well as Stories of Passing Strangers.  I have stories in both publications, and when I announced them on the blog, I also offered a drawing for the books.  If you missed the announcements, you can read about them here and here.

I decided to wait until November 1st for the drawing so we could make it as part of the celebration. The other reason was so I only had to take pictures and not be involved in the draw itself.

First I wrote down all the names, and laid them out on the table.

After that, I got my trusty helpers to lean in and grab a name.  DSCN8418 DSCN8417

And, I’m delighted to announce the winners (though the pictures are fuzzy)!

Pat Holowatiuk and Rachel Miller–you will each receive a copy of Chicken Soup for the Soul–Christmas in Canada, signed by all of the contributors and editors who will be at the official book launch this week.

Janet Brantley–your prize is a signed copy of Stories of Passing Strangers.

Ladies, could you please email your mailing address to and I’ll pop the books in the mail as soon as I can.

Thank you, everyone, for celebrating with us. It’s been a magical time.

    1. I’m so happy for you. Thanks for being so supportive, I really appreciate it.

    1. You’re welcome, Janet. I haven’t received the hard copies yet, but I’ll send it to you as soon as I can.

  1. I am so pleased for you. I downloaded the Stories of Passing Strangers & look forward to reading it. The morning talk show on Global TV interviewed the editor of the Christmas in Canada book. I will be looking for it at Costco or Target. As a side note- I read your blog daily . So often it triggers my own writing. Thank you for being you.

  2. What a lovely encouraging note, Linda. Thank you so much. I didn’t see the interview–maybe I can find it on their website. I also found it for a good price at Loblaws.

Thanks for stopping by, Linda. These lovely words will go in my pick-me-up file.

    1. Thanks Linda. It was a big day, loads of fun…and now I’m ready to sleep for a week. Oh wait…there’s NaNo!
